About This Project
The entry to this sculpture is the Torso as a signifying idol in art, changing appearances through history. The poetic sensibility of the mail torso in a few masterpieces of our heritage, works by Michelangelo, Donatello and Dupré, knocks me down. The vulnerability of the mail body is a feature that has it’s origin in Christian motifs of martyrdom. Contradictionally it speaks, in it’s visual impact, of liberation and serenity.
